Impressionist Watercolour of People #1

Eros, London, England - 16" x 24"

Most of my watercolours are painted on Saunders Waterford paper, but now and again I select Arches, as in this case. I wanted to capture the hustle and bustle of people going about their business in this hugely popular London attraction. My overall aim was to keep everything simple, and reduce detail to give an impression of movement. Notice the lack of detail in the faces, too. It creates more anonymity, so typical of city life.

Fast & Loose Norfolk rural landscape demonstration

Wells Next The Sea is a beautiful fishing village on the North Norfolk coast. Enjoy this demo.

Old Hunstanton Cliffs, Norfolk, England

Old Hunstanton Cliffs, Norfolk, England - 15" x 11"
Here's a new painting completed outdoors. The location is on the Norfolk coast, with the sea, sand and dominating cliffs as the main focal point. Lots of soft and hard edges, lost and found edges, too. Notice the repetition of triangles in this composition. Paper used Saunders Waterford 300gms/140lb.
